The Peachblow Story
A few years ago, I bought some expensive steaks from Costco. Our family was rather disappointed.
That sounds like a small thing to start a farm over, but here we are.
My name is Andrew Meyers, and I own Peachblow Cattle Farm in Lewis Center, Ohio. I have never raised cattle before and I have no farming background. I was, however, tired of paying premium prices for beef that tasted like nothing — and I figured I could do better.
That was the spark that started my farming journey and what drove me to buy my first cows.
We started our farm with Charolais. These were big, beautiful animals, but unfortunately they were also mean. One of them broke my ribs and another liked charging me. I have two young daughters and a wife who enjoy being in the pasture with me, and I decided pretty quickly that this wasn't going to work.
I switched to registered Herefords. They're gentler, smarter, and — once I started tasting our own beef versus what I was buying at the store — clearly the better animal. We haven't looked back since.
A family operation, Run by a family
That's not a marketing line or gimmick. My wife Teya is out there with me and our daughters, ages 1 and 3, are growing up around these animals. They know the cows and the cows know them. That's the whole point.
We chose Herefords specifically because they're calm enough to raise around our kids. We chose grass-fed because that's how we wanted to feed our own family. We chose no antibiotics because we don't want to eat them, and we don't think you should have to either.
If we wouldn't serve it at our dinner table, we don't sell it.
About The Land
Our farm sits in the middle of a developed area in Lewis Center — and that's not an accident.
The piece of land was on track to become another neighborhood, and somewhere along the way I decided it shouldn't. Now it's a pasture with cattle, in the middle of a part of Ohio that's growing fast around us.
It's a holdout, a way to feel more grounded and have more control over what food we are feeding our families.
WhatWhat we believe about beef
We're not trying to be the biggest beef operation in Ohio. We're trying to be one of the best. Here's how we work:
Registered Herefords only. Documented genetics, every animal traceable.
Grass-fed on our own pasture. No feedlot, no shortcuts.
No antibiotics, ever. If an animal gets sick enough to need them, it goes to a different program — not to you.
Custom cut to your specs. We work directly with our butcher. You tell us what you want, we get it cut that way.
Truly local. Most of our customers live within 20 minutes of the farm. We deliver, you pick up, and we know your name.
What’s Next
We're just getting started. The herd is growing, the freezer is full, and we're building Peachblow into something we'd be proud to feed our own kids out of for decades to come.
If you want to be part of that, the easiest way is to start with a box.
